Job summary

City of Bellevue seeks a Mechanical Services Technician to maintain and repair a wide range of fleet vehicles and equipment, including gas and diesel engines. The role involves field and shop work, diagnostics, and coordination with a team to ensure reliable service.

Required are 3+ years in mechanical tech roles, high school diploma or trade coursework, and ability to operate welding equipment. Proficiency with Maximo and related software is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED supplemented with automotive or trade school coursework.
• Three or more years progressively responsible related mechanical technician experience.
• Or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment following a prescribed format and documentation.
• Interacts with team members and crew lead on work in progress status.
• Performs diagnostics and repairs on diverse light and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment including gas and diesel engines.
• Performs diagnostics on electrical and electronic systems such as alternators, batteries, lighting, ignitions, and engine controls.
• Provides emergency repairs, field service, and standby as required.
• MIG welding and fabrication as needed.
• Keeps accurate maintenance records and uses Maximo or similar software.
