Job summary

Iowa Plains Signing, Inc. in Slater, IA is seeking a skilled Mechanic Technician to maintain and repair our fleet and equipment used in pavement marking operations.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and support mobile repairs at jobsites, with emphasis on safety and accuracy in service records.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of mechanic or equipment maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
• Experience with diesel/gas engines, brakes, and basic electrical systems.
• Hydraulic system knowledge is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and safety-focused.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair diesel and gas-powered equipment.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical systems and read simple schematics.
• Perform light- and medium-duty brake repairs.
• Assist with hydraulic system repairs.
• Repair and replace tires or be willing to learn.
• Perform mobile repairs at jobsites as needed.
• Maintain accurate service records and a clean, safe work area.
