Job summary

Pavement Technology, Inc. seeks a dependable Fleet Mechanic and Facility Maintenance person to inspect, maintain and repair our fleet, including distributor trucks and service vehicles.

You will support the Fleet Manager with diagnostics and repairs and visit job sites as required. Applicants should be able to perform PM services, tire rotations, brake checks, and assist with parts ordering and shop organization.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip inspections on distributor trucks, street sweepers, dump trucks and pickups.
• Perform maintenance and repairs in the shop and in the field in coordination with the Fleet Manager.
• Complete PM service, tire rotations and brake checks.
• Assist in ordering parts, receiving deliveries, and maintaining shop inventory.
• Travel to job sites as needed (approx. 25–50%).

Pavement Technology Inc. has been the leader in rejuvenating asphalt for over 50 years. We aim to offer long-term, environmentally responsible technologies to rejuvenate roadways, stabilize road joints, restore seals, suppress dust, and restore recycled asphalt. Our team is second to none. We travel throughout the country, rejuvenating one road at a time. Our Florida division works in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Sound Carolina.

We are seeking a responsible Fleet Mechanic and Facility Maintenance Person to be able to conduct pre-trip inspections, perform maintenance and repairs on distributor trucks, street sweepers, dump trucks, and pickup trucks. You will work with the Fleet Manager for diagnosing/troubleshooting and repairs that are needed.

You must be able to conduct field visits when needed. You will complete PM services, tire rotations, and brake checks as well as assist in ordering parts, accepting deliveries and maintaining/organizing shop inventory and general shop upkeep.

• Must have a basic working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems with basic trouble shooting skills

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 21
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
• High school diploma or GED
• Satisfactory completion of post-secondary education in diesel automotive repair
• Must be willing to travel overnight to fix equipment on job sites approximately 50% of time.
• Class B CDL is preferred or willing to obtain within one year of employment. The company will reimburse up to $750 upon passing the class

Environment and Physical Requirements

• Perform physical activities that requires considerable use of your arms and legs such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, and handling materials
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Physically capable of performing all duties as assigned
• Perform duties in various weather conditions (some yard are outdoors).
• Must be able to travel 25%-50%
