Job summary

The Fleet Mechanic First Class at Honickman Companies' Landover, MD facility performs repair, maintenance, and diagnostic tasks to keep company vehicles and equipment in safe, reliable condition. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair automotive/diesel systems, read VCRs, and respond to emergency road calls.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years in truck diesel/auto repair, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years in truck diesel and auto repair.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• ASE/electronic diagnostics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on automotive and diesel engines, forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on driveline components.
• Complete brake/axle repairs, engine diagnostics, electrical work, welding, and safety inspections.
• Read Vehicle Condition Reports and communicate with supervisors/drivers.
• Respond to emergency road calls to repair trucks as needed.
• Document repair orders and maintain equipment status updates.
