Job summary

Gillman Home Center is seeking a full-time Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our vehicle fleet. You will diagnose issues, perform routine maintenance, and provide accurate repair estimates. The role involves travel to store locations, delivering service and parts while maintaining safety standards.

The position runs Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm, with a requirement to drive to stores and vendors. A high school diploma or GED is required, with preferred ASE certification and CDL Class B

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred.
• ASE certification is a plus.
• CDL Class B is a plus; valid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicle components to diagnose issues.
• Perform routine maintenance (fluids, lubrication) to improve function and longevity.
• Schedule future maintenance sessions.
• Provide accurate estimates for repair or maintenance work.
• Repair or replace faulty parts and fix issues.
• Maintain logs/records of work and issues.
• Operate and maintain shop tools and equipment.
• Plan routes for economical use of time and equipment.
• Drive to vendors or other stores to pick up orders or vehicles.
• Drive to Gillman Home Center locations to service vehicles; work truck and gas provided.
• Assist with preparing deliveries.
• Adhere to safety and security standards.
• Communicate effectively with team and customers.
• Read, count and document accurately.
