Job summary

Jefferson County is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of gas, diesel, hybrid, and electric vehicles. You will diagnose issues, perform engine and transmission repairs, and keep detailed records using fleet management software.

The role operates Monday-Thursday, 6:00 am–4:30 pm on site at the Golden fleet shop. Salary ranges $30.00–$35.00 per hour with standard benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: One year work related experience.
• Certifications: CDL may be required within one year of employment.
• Education/experience: An equivalent combination is acceptable.
• Preferred qualifications: ASE certification, CDL, Tow Truck experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair fleet vehicles, diagnose and repair systems.
• Maintain service records and fleet management documentation.
• Coordinate with technicians and vendors to ensure uptime.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
