Job summary

LifeStar Response seeks a dedicated Fleet Mechanic to keep our ambulance fleet safe and road-ready through preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on gas and diesel emergency vehicles.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and computer-controlled systems, service brakes and drivetrain components, and maintain meticulous service logs in a hands-on, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (trade school or technical training preferred).
• Prior experience as a fleet or automotive mechanic.
• Working knowledge of gas and diesel engines and vehicle systems.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on ambulances and support vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and computer-controlled systems.
• Service brakes (including air brakes), engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and drivetrains.
• Complete routine maintenance (oil changes, filters, fluids, belts, tires, hoses).
• Repair or replace components in cooling, exhaust/emissions, hydraulic, air, and electrical systems.
• Maintain accurate service logs and maintenance records.
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
• Support other maintenance tasks as assigned.
