Job summary

LifeStar Response is seeking a dedicated Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our ambulance fleet, ensuring safety, reliability, and road readiness. The role emphasizes preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on gas and diesel emergency vehicles and related systems.

The ideal candidate has prior fleet/automotive experience, strong knowledge of vehicle systems, and a valid driver’s license. This on-site position requires physical work and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (trade school or technical training preferred).
• Prior experience as a fleet or automotive mechanic.
• Working knowledge of gas and diesel engines and vehicle systems.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on ambulances and support vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and computer-controlled systems.
• Service brakes (including air brakes), engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and drivetrains.
• Complete routine maintenance (oil changes, filters, fluids, belts, tires, hoses).
• Repair or replace components in cooling, exhaust/emissions, hydraulic, air, and electrical systems.
• Maintain accurate service logs and maintenance records.
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
• Support other maintenance tasks as assigned.
