Continental Expedited Services Inc. (CES) seeks a skilled Fleet Mechanic to maintain our diesel tractor and trailer fleet, perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, and support roadside service. This hands-on role emphasizes safety, reliability, and timely return-to-service.

You will document labor and parts, coordinate with the Fleet Coordinator, and work with Operations and drivers to prioritize repairs. A valid CDL is preferred, and DOT knowledge is required.

Qualificações

• Experience as a diesel mechanic, fleet mechanic, or heavy-duty truck technician.
• Knowledge of diesel engines and tractor-trailer systems.
• Diagnose/repair air brakes, electrical systems, suspension, steering, drivetrain, HVAC, aftertreatment, wheel-end, and trailer systems.
• Use diagnostic software and manuals for troubleshooting.
• Know DOT inspection requirements.
• Document repairs, labor hours, parts, and maintenance activity.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, fleet personnel, operations, vendors and leadership.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL and/or DOT qualifications preferred.
• ASE or manufacturer certifications are a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using fault codes, telematics, diagnostic software, service literature, and troubleshooting.
• Repair and service diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform annual DOT inspections and brake/safety-system repairs.
• Maintain accurate work orders and repair histories.
• Road test equipment after repairs and verify issues are resolved.
• Assist with roadside breakdowns and mobile repairs as needed.
• Coordinate with Fleet Coordinator to prioritize repairs and route to outside vendors when required.
• Work with Operations, Safety & Compliance, drivers and other departments to support fleet readiness.
• Operate in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies; never release unsafe equipment.
