Job summary

The Bartlett Tree Experts is seeking an experienced Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on our fleet of company trucks and tree care equipment at the Charlotte Arboretum. The role involves a wide range of tasks including mowing and grounds work, with a focus on reliability and safety for a growing fleet.

Qualified candidates will have 3+ years of experience in mechanical repairs of trucks, diesel engines, and hydraulics; a valid Class B CDL is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical repairs of trucks, diesel engines, and hydraulics.
• Experience maintaining landscape or construction equipment is preferred.
• Valid Class B CDL or ability to acquire one.

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance and repair of company vehicles and tree care equipment (bucket and chip trucks, aerial lifts, chippers, stump grinders, hydraulic sprayers).
• Diagnose problems, perform repairs, and conduct preventative maintenance.
• Maintain service logs and records of maintenance.
• Perform routine inspections to ensure DOT compliance.
• Place orders and maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
• Coordinate significant repairs with local manager.
• Adhere to safety standards, policies, and procedures.
