Job summary

Cataldo Ambulance Service Inc. is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel and gas vehicles. This hands-on role is based out of Chelsea/Lynn, MA, with responsibilities across our fleet.

Ideal candidates have experience with gas/diesel engines and emergency vehicles, and are proficient with computer systems including web-based applications and MS Office. A valid background check and reliable attendance are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Vocational, safety and additional education is a plus.
• Prior experience with gas and diesel vehicles preferred.
• Experience with Ford Transmissions, E350 and E450 trucks with 4.6/6.0 engines preferred.
• Experience with emergency vehicles preferred.
• Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and MS Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, diagnosing, performing mechanical repairs on company vehicles.
• Performing preventative maintenance in a timely manner to reduce breakdowns and costs.
• Updating managers of concerns and potential problems with employees or equipment.
• Maintain and complete work according to work orders and priority assignments.
• Proactively exploring opportunities to add value, time efficiencies and increase productivity.
• Communicate with operations for equipment restocking or replacement needs.
• Maintain a professional work environment with coworkers, departments, customers and vendors.
