Job summary

TForce Freight is seeking a full-time Fleet Mechanic in Columbus to maintain tractors and trailers, perform preventive maintenance, inspect and diagnose issues, and carry out both minor and complex repairs. You must be capable of operating standard transmissions and have hands-on experience with diesel fleets.

Candidates should have trade school training or fleet repair exposure, knowledge of FMCSA requirements, and own a complete set of hand tools. Safety and reliability are paramount.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Proficient operating standard transmission vehicles
• Fleet diesel and gas experience or trade school training highly desirable
• Understanding of FMCSA requirements and able to pass an annual PM certification
• Safely perform essential job functions without obvious risk of injury to self or co-workers
• Must have a complete set of hand tools
• Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system and mechanisms of a diesel engine
• In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
• Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular and preventative maintenance.
• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot and diagnosis.
• Perform minor and complex repairs.
