Job summary

Air Star Transportation in West Mifflin is seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This role performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on our fleet in the safest, most effective way possible.

You will inspect vehicles, perform tune-ups, oil changes, tire work, and complete fleet inspections, while maintaining records and ensuring compliance with state requirements. Must have own tools and be able to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

High school diploma required.
2-4 years of mechanic experience.
Able to pass background check, pre-employment drug screening, and random testing.

Responsibilities

Inspecting and testing vehicles and performing preventive maintenance (engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire work, wheel balancing, filter replacement).
Repair engine failures and system malfunctions and replace parts as needed.
Complete regularly scheduled fleet inspections and test drives.
Ensure compliance with state vehicle requirements and safety standards.
Maintain vehicle appearance and service records; manage inventory and supplies.
Assist in shop budget through warranties and parts options.
Work weekends and holidays as needed.
