Job summary

Menards is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to service and repair our Midwest Manufacturing Fleet, including forklifts, cars/trucks, and trailers. You will inspect equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform repairs to keep a diverse fleet operating safely and efficiently.

The role requires strong diagnostic abilities, knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and the capacity to lift heavy items.

Qualifications

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to locate and resolve problems in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of standard fleet equipment practices, tools, and procedures.
• Ability to lift 75+ lbs and follow written and oral instructions.
• Basic welding and maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect fleet equipment to locate and determine the extent of necessary repair.
• Repair, replace, and adjust necessary units and related parts.
• Perform maintenance work to DOT standards for over the road equipment.
• Perform general overhaul and repair work on gasoline, diesel, propane and battery powered engines/equipment.
• General repair, welding, and fabrication of fleet units.
• Perform preventative maintenance work on vehicles including lubrication, oil changes, and annual inspections.
• Maintain records on all maintenance and repair work performed.
