Job summary

Gulfshoresal is seeking Fleet Mechanics to diagnose, repair, and maintain a municipal fleet in Florida. The roles span Apprentice, I, and II levels, offering progression with supervision and independent work as experience grows.

Responsibilities include completing work orders, parts coding, and coordinating with other city departments while upholding safety and quality standards. A valid Florida license and related certifications are desirable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Two years experience as Fleet Mechanic Apprentice or municipal/fleet mechanic with variety of vehicles.
• ASE certification or EPA-related certifications preferred.
• Possession or ability to obtain Class B CDL within one year (A preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle and equipment diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance.
• Prepare and itemize parts, process paperwork, and manage work orders.
• Coordinate with team to ensure safety standards and regulations are met.
• Mentor less-experienced staff and assist with training as needed.
• Lead complex diagnostic tasks for heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
