Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a Fleet Services Mechanic A for the 2nd shift. Responsible for skilled corrective maintenance, testing, and repair of automotive, construction, and material handling equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

You may work with a team of up to three others when needed and handle diagnostic testing on engines. Responsibilities include disassembly, reassembly, welding, and testing to ensure equipment operates safely and reliably.

Qualifications

• Skilled in diagnosing and repairing automotive, construction, and material handling equipment.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to perform welding and metal fabrication as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, disassemble, repair, and assemble automotive, construction, and material handling equipment.
• Perform dielectric, bucket liner, and annual load testing as part of inspections.
• Operate hand and power tools; perform welding and gas cutting.
• Train and direct assigned employees; complete shop records and documentation.
• Maintain ASE and hydraulic certifications as required by the role.
