Job summary

Stop & Shop is seeking a fleet maintenance mechanic to service Class 8 tractor trailer units at our Assonet facility. The role requires a valid DOT health card and a CDL with the ability to obtain CDL-A within 18 months, plus ownership of personal tools.

The position is on the 2nd/3rd shift with mandatory overtime. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and ensure compliance with state and federal trucking regulations while supporting a safe, reliable fleet.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid DOT health card.
• CDL required; ability to obtain CDL-A within 18 months of hire.
• Two- or third-shift position with mandatory overtime.
• Own set of tools is required to perform maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on Class 8 tractor trailers and related equipment.
• Repair brakes, tires, and electrical components; perform structural welding as needed.
• Diagnose issues using scan tools and maintain maintenance records.
