Job summary

Valley Pacific is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to maintain its delivery trucks in the Stockton, CA area. The role includes assisting with maintenance, repairs, and keeping maintenance records and DVIRS.

The successful candidate will require strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, be self-motivated and highly organized, and maintain a clean, safe shop environment. Experience with Class A diesel fleets and knowledge of DOT/FMCSA/CHP requirements for a HAZMAT fleet is

Qualifications

• Must have thorough knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of a Class A diesel fleet mechanic.
• Knowledge of air brakes and related plumbing.
• Proficient in the diagnosis of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and AC systems.
• Knowledge of the DOT/FMCSA/CHP requirements for a HAZMAT fleet.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and track maintenance records and DVIRS.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and build relationships.
• Keep the shop environment clean and organized.

Job description

Valley Pacific is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to maintain its fleet of delivery trucks in the Stockton, CA area. This person will assist in the maintenance and repairs of the truck fleet. This person will also assist in keeping track of all maintenance records and DVIRS. The successful candidate will have excellent communication (listening), negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will have excellent communication (listening), negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• VPPS is looking for someone who has excellent interpersonal skills, is self-motivated, highly organized, and able to resolve problems
• Must maintain a clean and organized shop environment.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Must have thorough knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of a Class A diesel fleet mechanic.
• Knowledge of air brakes and related plumbing
• Proficient in the diagnosis of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and AC systems
• Knowledge of the mechanical requirements of the DOT/FMCSA/CHP for a HAZMAT fleet, performing intrastate commerce
• Tanker fabrication and aluminum repair experience a plus
• Preventative maintenance background
• CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements a plus, but not required

Compensation and Benefits:

• Opportunity to make up to $100,000
• Pay range from $33 to $45 per hour, depending on experience
• Qualified applicants could earn up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus
