Job summary

Weis Markets is seeking a maintenance mechanic to service and repair equipment across our facilities in the United States. You will inspect engines, diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and advise on proper upkeep to maximise reliability and efficiency.

The role requires basic mechanical knowledge, a high school diploma or equivalent, and relevant forklift/Hazmat/refrigeration certifications if applicable. A strong safety mindset and the ability to multi-task are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent. Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• General mechanical knowledge required; ability to read manuals.
• On the job training provided for forklift operation, Hazmat awareness and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Builds and assembles machines or mechanical components according to requirement son vehicles.
• Inspects machines, engines, transmissions and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.
• Conducts repairs aiming for maximum reliability.
• Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
• Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems.
• Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery.
• Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users.
• Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g., repair of hydraulic systems, painting, etc.).
• Keep logs of work and report on issues.
• Able to multi-task and work on projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

High School diploma or equivalent. Vocational or technical certification preferred. General mechanical knowledge is required. Must be able to read and understand technical service manuals and other related materials. On the job training will be provided for forklift operation, Hazmat awareness and other training related to safety standards. Associate assigned to refrigeration systems repair will be required to obtain certification in that area.
