Job summary

Weis Markets is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to service and repair machines and refrigeration systems at our facility in New York. The role involves inspecting engines, diagnosing issues, and performing preventive maintenance to ensure reliability.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus vocational/technical certification. On-the-job training for forklift operation, Hazmat, and safety standards is provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• General mechanical knowledge is required.
• Must be able to read and understand technical service manuals and other related materials.
• On the job training will be provided for forklift operation, Hazmat awareness and other training related to safety standards.
• Associate assigned to refrigeration systems repair will be required to obtain certification in that area.

Responsibilities

• Builds and assembles machines or mechanical components according to requirement son vehicles.
• Inspects machines, engines, transmissions and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.
• Conducts repairs aiming for maximum reliability.
• Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
• Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems.
• Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery.
• Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users.
• Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g., repair of hydraulic systems, painting, etc.).
• Keep logs of work and report on issues.
• Able to multi-task and work on projects as assigned.
