Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to provide maintenance and repairs for company vehicles and equipment including gasoline engines and pallet jacks.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, repair brakes, service tires, and keep accurate logs. A CDL Class A is preferred and a valid license is required.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in fleet operations.
• CDL Class A preferred.
• Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair company vehicles and equipment (gasoline engines, electric pallet jacks, forklifts).
• Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to identify issues.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on machinery and vehicles.
• Maintain logs, repairs, and maintenance records.

Objective:The Fleet Mechanic’s primary function is to provide maintenance and repairs to all company vehicles and equipment. Vehicles include gasoline engines, electric pallet jacks and forklifts.Accountabilities:Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problemsConduct preventative maintenance, as scheduled, on machinery, systems, and automotive vehiclesRepair and install major componentsService & repair brakesRepair & replace tiresMaintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance recordsMay be required to perform other duties as assignedTwo to four years of experience in fleet operationsMust be a self-starter, dependable, safety minded, detail oriented and organized with processes and paperworkAbility to prioritize work and meet deadlinesAbility to lift approximately 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis from ground level and overhead.Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environmentAbility to bend, kneel, stand, lift and perform physical labor for multiple hours at a timeAbility to operate and maneuver a pallet jack with a weight load of approximately 2500 lbs.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with sound customer service skillsAbility to work a flexible schedule to include some daily overtime, holidays, evenings and weekendsValid driver’s license and excellent driving record are requiredMust be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screenClass A CDL PreferredMust be able to pass a DOT physical if the candidate is a CDL driver
