Job summary

Town of Apple Valley's Public Works - Fleet Maintenance Division is seeking a journey-level technician to perform preventive maintenance and repair of Town vehicles, heavy equipment, power tools, and specialty equipment.

Requirements include a high school diploma and 4 years of municipal maintenance experience, plus a CA class C license and the potential to obtain a Class B CDL with tanker/air brake endorsements. Weekend or after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to the completion of twelfth grade and four years of experience in the maintenance and repair of vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Experience with power tools and a mid-size fleet inventory is highly desired.
• Valid California class C driver’s license with satisfactory driving record and automobile insurance.
• Ability to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver License with tanker, air brake, and standard transmission endorsements within the timeframe specified by the Town.

Requirements:

Equivalent to the completion of twelfth (12th) grade and four (4) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of vehicles and heavy equipment within a municipal operation; or and equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience working with power tools and a mid-size fleet inventory is highly desired.

• Valid California class C driver’s license with satisfactory driving record and automobile insurance.
