SJRC Texas is seeking a Fleet Manager in Bulverde, TX to oversee maintenance, repairs, and tracking of our fleet and facility assets. The role blends hands-on field work with administrative duties to keep vehicles safe, compliant, and reliable.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inspections, maintenance and repairs of SJRC owned and leased fleet vehicles.
• Coordinate and perform minor repairs and safety inspections.
• Respond to urgent fleet issues, including breakdowns and towing coordination.

Salary Range: $70,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually

PRIMARY FUNCTION/RESPONSIBILITY

The Fleet Manager supports the maintenance, repair, and tracking of the organization’s vehicles and facility assets. This role performs and coordinates inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs; coordinates vendor service; maintains asset records and inventories, and ensures safety and regulatory compliance. The position includes both hands-on field work and administrative tasks to keep organizational assets safe, reliable, and running efficiently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Fleet Maintenance & Operations

• Coordinate inspections, maintenance and repairs of all SJRC owned and leased light/medium-duty fleet vehicles with assigned personnel.


• Coordinate and perform as needed minor repairs, and safety inspections.


• Respond to urgent fleet issues, including breakdowns, towing coordination, and escalation.


• Ensure all fleet vehicles are compliant with Department of Transportation (DOT) and other relevant regulations.


• Tack and report on accidents, incidents, and vehicle inspections.

Asset tracking & Documentation

• Maintain asset inventory and vehicle records, including service history, condition status, and lifecycle replacement planning.


• Assists in using and updating the asset management system/software.


• Provide periodic reports on asset condition, fleet utilization and maintenance forecasts.


• Coordinate with external vendors/contractors for specialized repairs or inspections.


• Monitor vendor performance for quality, service levels, and regulatory compliance.


• Track service agreements and ensure work is completed to standards.

Parts, Supplies & Tool

• Order and maintain stock of commonly used maintenance parts and supplies as needed.


• Ensure tool, diagnostic equipment, and shop/maintenance spaces are organized and properly maintained.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, internal polices, environmental standards, and vehicle licensing/inspection requirements.


• Support facility safety procedures and participate in emergency response as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certification.


• Proven experience in facilities maintenance, vehicle/fleet maintenance, or both.


• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge applicable to fleet vehicles and building systems.


• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and digital record keeping.


• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliability.


• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or with a team.


• Effective verbal and written communication skills


• Valid driver’s license; ability to operate fleet vehicles.


• Comfortable shifting between hands-on field work and administrative tasks in a hybrid environment.

Preferred:

• Certifications such as ASE (automotive), HVAC, electrical, or other facilities related trade license.


• Experience with preventative maintenance scheduling, budgeting, or cost tracking.


• Knowledge of DOT, local fleet safety regulation, facility compliance standards, and environmental/safety practices.

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:

• Valid Texas Driver’s License, good driving record, ability to provide own transportation and proof of current automobile insurance.


• CPR/First Aid Certification.


• CPI Certification (provided).


• Age minimum of 21 years of age per licensing standards.


• Forklift and backhoe operation/certification preferred.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, and walk.


• Stamina to work long days and drive long distances.


• Moderate to heavy lifting up to 75 pounds unassisted and up to 120 pounds or more with assistance.


• Must have the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.


• Must have the ability to give and receive verbal and written instructions.


• Must have fine vision, sustained vision, and peripheral vision.


• Environment requires dexterity to remain calm and adapt to fast paced and emotional environments consisting of children with moderate to severe emotional and psychological needs.


• Office/Outdoor settings with varying moderate to high degrees of background noise.


• Light and ventilation are found in a typical home setting.


• Campuses are smoke-free, except on permitted campuses in designated areas.


• Possibility of exposure to blood borne pathogens exists if universal precautions are not followed


• Possible injury when lifting or moving if employee fails to use proper body mechanics, or if proper techniques are not used.


• Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals and equipment. Proper protective clothing and gear to include gloves, masks, and eye guards are required as needed. Further training on use of chemicals may be required.
