The Fleet Manager is responsible for managing the local fleet staff including scheduling, and other administration functions of the department, as well as performing diagnostics, PM and repairs to vehicles.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Manages scheduling and payroll functions, hiring and other human resource and other administration functions of the department.
- Responsible for tracking, administering, and compliance with MMT’s Preventative Maintenance Program
- Coordinates vehicle repair and logistics with crews and management; coordinates and approves parts and internal/external service orders.
- Diagnoses, rebuilds, and repairs vehicles and equipment.
- Performs inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
- Prepares and maintains records and reports.
- Leads Fleet personnel in their duties
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions.
- Noise level in the work environment can be loud.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
Qualifications
- 5 years technical experience
- Leadership Experience
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Self-confidence, emotional stability, good judgment, and tolerance for high stress
- Possess good verbal communication skills .
- Knowledge of diagnostic procedures and equipment, fleet maintenance management systems, and telematics systems.
- Working competencies with MS Office programs.
- Prior ambulance or emergency vehicle and equipment knowledge and understanding of various state requirements
- ASE or manufacturer’s Certification preferred
- Proficiency in light diesel and gas truck engines preferred.
