Job summary

Bridgeway in Clearwater, MN is seeking a Fleet Manager to grow revenue by building strong relationships with company drivers and owner operators, ensuring daily availability and freight needs are met.

You will act as the main link between drivers, the TMS and Account Managers, plan equipment to customer demand, and monitor utilization and revenue per truck to achieve service goals. Strong communication and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• Level 1 requires 5+ years of Dispatcher or Fleet Manager experience with 25+ trucks.
• Level 2 requires 1-5 years experience with 20+ trucks.
• Level 3 is entry level, preferred some experience.
• MS Office proficiency (Excel and Power BI) preferred.

Job Purpose –

To grow revenue and increase retention by building strong relationships with the assigned professional company drivers and owner operators by communicating with the drivers daily for their availability, location, and freight need. The Fleet Manger is the connection between the Customer and the Account Manager to ensure the company achieves the required service goals.

Job Duties/Responsibilities –

• To oversee and act as a primary point of contact for the company drivers and owner operators.
• To ensure the location and status of every truck is accurate and up to date in the TMS.
• To ensure every available truck is loaded and operates daily.
• To ensure that every driver and contractor understands the service requirements of the customer.
• Communicate with Account Managers to provide freight needs for the trucks and to understand the service needs for the customer.
• Direct/plan equipment to the areas of customer need.
• Develop relationships with new drivers assigned.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of company products and services.
• Specific Day/Day Duties:
  • Plan trucks to available freight opportunities.
  • Ensure Company equipment is operating and dispatched with a load daily.
  • Ensure Owner Operators are loaded daily.
  • Ensure the TMS system is accurate and up to date with all driver statuses.
  • Review and provide freight opportunities to drivers and owner operators available from the other operating terminals and agents in the Bridgeway network.
    • Success measured by Utilization of Equipment:
      • Retention
      • In-Service rate
      • Revenue per Truck
      • Deadhead
  • Update Account Managers on load status.
  • Review public load boards for freight opportunities and posting of truck availability.

Preferred Background/Qualifications/Qualities –

Experience

Level 1: Minimum 5 years of Experience as a Dispatcher or Fleet Manager dispatching a fleet of at least 25 Trucks consisting of owner operators and company trucks.

Level 2: 1-5 years of Experience as a Dispatcher or Fleet Manager dispatching a fleet of at least 20 trucks (company or owner operators)

Level 3: Entry level, preferred some experience but not required.

• Demonstratable ability to work calmly under pressure and stress.
• Ability to build strong relationships with the drivers assigned to them.
• Ability to learn and become proficient with TMS.
• Multi-task in busy environment.
• Must be compassionate but strong willed to get the job done.
• Strong verbal, listening and written communication skills.
• Ability to keep extremely organized.
• MS Office proficiency (Excel and Power BI) preferred.
