Job summary

ESCAMBIA COUNTY seeks a full-time Maintenance/Welding Technician in Pensacola to fabricate, weld, and maintain vehicles and equipment. You may procure supplies, perform complex repairs, and assist with vendor relations.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and relevant training or experience in fleet maintenance. A valid driver’s license is required; CDL is preferred but not required. The role emphasizes safety and teamwork in a Parks & Recreation environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and up to one year of specialized or technical training beyond high school and/or three years of fleet maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of electrical/HVAC systems and hazardous materials as part of maintenance.
• Valid Driver's License; CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Fabricates and/or welds items for buildings, vehicles, equipment and related items.
• Procures materials from suppliers and may pick up items as needed.
• Performs maintenance checks and repairs on diesel/gasoline powered equipment and vehicles.
• Diagnoses equipment issues and evaluates repair priorities; documents work orders.
• Researches vendors and purchasing opportunities to support repairs and operations.
• Responds to emergency service calls and may transport equipment and vehicles.
