Job summary

Apex Waste Solutions is seeking a skilled Fleet Welder to join our maintenance team. This role performs welding, fabrication, and repair on company vehicles, containers, and equipment, with painting and finishing tasks to meet safety and quality standards.

You will read blueprints, diagnose issues, operate MIG/TIG/STICK welders, and ensure workmanship meets OEM specs while maintaining a clean, safe work area during daytime, on-site at Penrose, CO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or welding certification preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years welding experience (MIG, TIG, stick) in fleet, heavy equipment, or industrial settings.
• Proficiency in painting, coating, and surface preparation.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, metal properties, and welding safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on trucks, trailers, roll-off containers, and related equipment.
• Diagnose structural issues and complete repairs, reinforcements, and fabrications as needed.
• Conduct cutting, grinding, drilling, and metal preparation work.
• Prepare surfaces and apply primer, protective coatings, and finish paint.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
• Ensure welding/painting meets safety regulations and OEM specifications.
