Job summary

Escambia County School District is seeking a skilled automotive technician to maintain and repair heavy automotive equipment, gasoline and diesel driven motors, and related machinery. The role requires performing repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, and safety checks across a range of vehicles and equipment used in school transportation operations.

The successful candidate will have high school diploma or GED, 2-3 years of experience, ASE certifications preferred, and possibly CDL

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• 2–3 years of automotive/heavy equipment maintenance experience.
• ASE and dealership certifications preferred.
• May require valid Class A or B CDL.
• Equivalent education and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance for automotive equipment.
• Perform overhaul and repair work on gasoline/diesel motors; calibrate engines.
• Inspect and repair safety devices and wheelchair lifts; maintain logs and inventory.
