Job Description: Fleet Maintenance Technician

The technician will perform a variety of functions on fleet vehicles and equipment, adhering to company policies, regulations, manuals, schematics, and their own knowledge. Responsibilities are not limited to those listed and may include additional duties as needed.

Available positions include Fleet Maintenance Technician Class A, B, or C. The offered position depends on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Be at least 20 years old.
2. Have a valid driver’s license and authorization to drive a company vehicle by the start date.
3. Be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods.
4. Be capable of lifting at least 65 pounds.
5. Read, write, and solve math problems.
6. Complete required tests before starting: Basic Office Skills, Following Written Instructions, Spatial Reasoning, Mechanical Reasoning.
7. Interpret, understand, and follow instructions.
8. Generate and process work in a computerized maintenance management system.
9. Obtain ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certification.
10. Work independently with minimal supervision.
11. Maintain hand tools for daily duties.
12. Work well with others and be a team player.
13. Show enthusiasm, initiative, pride, and commitment to Publix’s mission.

Additional Qualifications:

1. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
2. At least two years of medium/heavy duty truck trade school or equivalent experience.
3. Knowledge of ARC, MIG, and GAS welding and cutting techniques.
4. Basic welding skills for aluminum and steel.
5. Mechanical and diagnostic knowledge of fleet equipment, circuits, and operational sequences.
