Job summary

City of El Paso is seeking a skilled vehicle maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance and servicing on a variety of vehicles and equipment in shop and field settings. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair issues, conduct Texas State Vehicle Inspections, log work, replace parts, refuel, and assist with major repairs as needed; a valid Texas CDL may be required and safety rules apply.

This role requires 2 years of hands-on experience, and candidates must comply with drug testing

Qualifications

• 2 years of vehicle servicing and lubrication experience.
• Possession of Texas Class C driver’s license or equivalent; CDL with Hazardous Materials endorsement may be required for some positions.
• State inspections license within six months may be required for some positions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment in shop or field.
• Dismount and mount tires, replace parts, and assist with major repairs.
• Conduct Texas State Vehicle Inspections and log defects, mileage, and work performed.
• Maintain records, fuel inventory, and routine part requisitions.
