Job summary

Schneider National is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Specialist in Putnam, CT to assist drivers with equipment issues and coordinate diagnostics and repairs. You will respond to calls, diagnose breakdowns, review estimates, and manage work orders to keep fleets moving.

The role requires a technical diesel/auto background (preferred) and solid communication, with competitive hourly pay and benefits. This position is on-site in Putnam, CT.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in diesel technology preferred but not required.
• One plus years of diesel or automotive repair experience.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming calls and messages from drivers when they experience truck and trailer issues.
• Provide guidance and temporary solutions to drivers in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Diagnose equipment breakdowns and identify the best way to proceed.
• Review detailed repair estimates.
• Create and update work orders about the status of repairs and vendors.
