City of Bryan is seeking a skilled fleet mechanic to perform preventive inspection, diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of municipal vehicles and equipment. The role includes servicing light and heavy duty trucks, fire apparatus, backhoes, sweepers, and more, with emphasis on safe operation and quality repairs.

The position requires 3 years of automotive maintenance experience and a high school diploma or GED, with the possibility of certification-based advancement.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; vocational automotive training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of maintenance/repair experience on automotive and mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of gasoline/diesel engines, powertrains, hydraulics, hydraulics systems, tires, and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with safety rules and repair shop hazards.

Responsabilités

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair on City fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Repair or replace hydraulic components, transmissions, engines, brakes, and related parts.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems, fuel systems, and ignition systems.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes; maintain repair records.
