Job summary

The position requires 3 years of automotive maintenance experience and a high school diploma or GED, with the possibility of certification-based advancement.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; vocational automotive training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of maintenance/repair experience on automotive and mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of gasoline/diesel engines, powertrains, hydraulics, hydraulics systems, tires, and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with safety rules and repair shop hazards.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair on City fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Repair or replace hydraulic components, transmissions, engines, brakes, and related parts.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems, fuel systems, and ignition systems.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes; maintain repair records.
