Description

Perform a number of functions on a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment according to company policy; federal, state, and local regulations; repair manuals; factory specifications; schematics; and applicant’s own knowledge of the fleet vehicles and equipment.

The responsibilities listed are not all-inclusive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.

One of the following positions is available: Fleet Maintenance Technician Class A, B or C.

Required Qualifications

• Be at least 20 years old.
• Have a valid driver’s license and authorization to drive a company vehicle on or before the position start date.
• Be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods.
• Be able to lift a minimum of 65 pounds.
• Be able to read, write, and solve math problems.
• Successfully complete the following pre‑employment tests:
  • Basic Office Skills
  • Following Written Instructions
  • Spatial Reasoning
  • Mechanical Reasoning
• Be able to interpret, understand, and follow instructions.
• Be capable of generating and processing work on a computerized maintenance management system.
• Have Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Medium/Heavy Truck Certification (or ability to obtain).
• Work independently with little or no supervision.
• Provide and maintain hand tools to accomplish daily duties.
• Work well with others and be a team member.
• Show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work.
• Show commitment to Publix’s mission.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Boynton Beach Distribution associate.
• Read and interpret technical manuals.
• Have at least two years of medium/heavy duty truck trade school or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of ARC, MIG, and GAS welding and cutting.
• Basic knowledge of welding techniques (aluminum and steel).
• Mechanical and diagnostic knowledge of fleet equipment, as well as knowledge of circuits and operational sequence of components.
• One year of medium/heavy duty truck trade school or equivalent experience.

Year End Bonus

Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November: 15 hours of pay in the first year of continuous employment, one week’s pay in the second year (if the employee remains employed through the issue date), and two weeks’ pay in subsequent years.
