A leading company in Memphis is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs on a diverse fleet. FLEET MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Location: Memphis
The Fleet Maintenance Technician must be focused, detailed oriented, and self-motivated, can work independently and in a team environment, must enjoy working with his/her hands, be mechanical minded, be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Accuracy and precision in following procedures and processes is mandatory. This individual will be responsible in assisting in preventive and general maintenance and repairs of the company facilities, grounds, vehicle fleet and other assets.
What You’ll Do:
You will perform preventative maintenance functions on our auto fleet of vehicles. This includes oil, fluid, tire changes, repairs and rotations, all in a safe manner. Depending on your experience, you may be assigned basic repairs or assist our experienced auto mechanics.
Job Duties:
· Performs mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on company fleet vehicles.
· Performs preventive maintenance and basic mechanical repairs on tractors, forklifts, pressure washers, and other equipment as required.
· Maintains work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition.
· All other duties assigned by manager.
Core Competencies:
· Must be 18 years of age or older.
· High School Diploma or equivalent required.
· Minimum of 1+ years of automotive maintenance experience.
· Solid working knowledge of mechanical and general repair principles.
· Demonstrated ability to multi-task, and work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
· Good organizational skills.
· Must have valid driver's license and a good driving record that meets company requirements
· Strong analytical and mechanical aptitude
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Must possess strong communication and time management skills
· Flexible Style; perseverance; action oriented
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions, and decimals.
· Aptitude for problem solving; ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and industry codes and standards.
· Ability to operate material handling equipment including forklifts, and pallet jacks.
· Ability to work a full time schedule
· Ability and willingness to work extended hours and weekends, as necessary.
· Ability to operate company trucks and pull behind trailers.
· Must be able to pass drug screen and company background check.
Physical Requirements & Exposures:
· Must be in good physical condition with no limitations.
· Must be willing to work outdoors in inclement weather.
· Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
· Must be able to carry 75 pounds repeatedly.
· Must be able to push greater than 100 pounds as needed.
· Must be able to pull greater than 100 pounds as needed.
· Must be able to safely climb a ladder and reach a height of at least 12 ft.
· Constant (5-8hrs/shift) standing, walking, handling items, and eye/hand/foot coordination.
· Frequently (2-5hrs/shift) lifting, carrying, repetitive motions, noise exposure, grasping items.
· Occasionally (up to 2hrs/shift) sitting, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, balancing, reaching, crouching, exposure to weather.
This position may require the handling of chemicals that may be skin and/or respiratory irritants. Person may also be exposed to ventilation areas which may have respiratory irritant. Must not be skin and respiratory sensitive to these materials and environments. MSDS are available.
