Job summary

WeDriveU is a leader in private shuttle and public transit solutions across the U.S., currently seeking a skilled Fleet Technician at our Boston area facility. You will diagnose, repair, and test a wide range of diesel and gasoline engines, electrical, braking and drive-train systems, ensuring all work complies with federal and local guidelines.

On-site work hours include Sunday to Thursday 4:00pm - 12:30am, with opportunities for road calls.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of fleet maintenance experience on heavy fleet (diesel bus/truck)
• Diesel and/or gasoline engine expertise in a fast-paced fleet environment
• Experience with computerized diagnostics
• General shop computer knowledge, purchasing, and budgeting
• Excellent computer skills (Word and Excel)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Organizational skills are a plus
• Willingness to obtain ASE certification within 90 days of start date (Required)

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs (steering, electrical, cooling, brake, drive train, suspensions, transmissions, engines) and test-drive to verify repairs
• Arrange inspections and obtain approvals for major repairs before releasing vehicles
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant maintenance area
• Identify additional repairs needed and coordinate with higher-qualification technicians when required
• Record time spent, parts used, and work performed
• Advise Lead Technician on unsafe conditions or vehicle abuse
• Perform on-road repairs and road calls as assigned
