JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the daily operations of the Fleet Maintenance department within the designated area along with ensuring that all Fleet equipment is maintained in a safe and serviceable manner while ensuring efficient shop flow.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of employees in the maintenance shop and meets with the Fleet Maintenance Manager to review progress
• Coordinates and supervises all maintenance work and repairs, and monitors progress and quality
• Reviews driver repairs and other maintenance requests and prepares work order documents
• Performs mechanical duties as needed
• Supervises equipment room lead and ensures that inventory of replacement parts is stocked as needed
• Oversee personnel including coaching, training, evaluating employee performance, and conducting disciplinary action as needed. Meet one-to-one with teammates. Provide input into hiring, performance and disciplinary decisions.
• Interprets and ensures consistent application of organizational policies and safety regulations. Conducts safety meetings.
• Creates and submits reports as necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Required Education: Technical School or Vocational Education

Other Requirements:

• Valid Class A Commercial Driving License
• Schnucks Powered Industrial Equipment Certification if employed
• Cab Air (609) Certification required
• Air Brake Certification required
• Automotive Service Excellence Certification preferred

Minimum Years of Experience: 1-3 years

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge

• Possess technical knowledge of tools and methods to repair tractor and trailer equipment
• Understanding of mechanical fundamentals, maintenance, diagnosis and repairs to vehicles and fleet operation
• Basic financial acumen

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to effectively communicate, written and verbal, to all levels of the organization
• Ability to provide clear direction to subordinates
• Automotive technical and maintenance ability
• Proficiency with technology, including office applications like Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
