Job summary

XPO in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Shop Supervisor to lead maintenance staff and contract workers, schedule work, and review performance for heavy equipment. You’ll oversee routine maintenance on class 7 and 8 diesel gear, manage parts and inventory, and ensure safety compliance.

Requires 2 years in fleet maintenance/management, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication. Offers health, life, PTO, holidays, 401(k) matching, and education assistance.

Qualifications

• 2 years of fleet maintenance or management experience.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Associate degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
• Current CDL.
• Previous or current ASE Certifications.
• 2 years leadership experience.
• Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry experience.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills; ability to lead and motivate others.
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance employees and contract workers, including hiring, scheduling, work assignments, and promotions/terminations.
• Observe, mentor, develop and review mechanics and shop staff performance.
• Oversee routine maintenance on class 7/8 diesel equipment and forklifts per schedules.
• Close work orders accurately and promptly, including commercial orders.
• Perform safety inspections and document safety records.
• Minimize equipment downtime and monitor cost and parts usage.
• Coordinate with service centers on repairs and required parts.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and process core refunds.
• Monitor reports to ensure compliance and productivity.
