SEPTA seeks a Maintenance Manager (Automotive Mechanical Desk) to supervise automotive fleet maintenance and oversee real-time vehicle monitoring across a large service region. You will drive safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction while coordinating with locations and engineering teams.

The role requires 24/7 scheduling flexibility across shifts, strong MS Office skills, and experience in a unionized environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus two years advanced technical training in the field of specialization; three years relevant maintenance experience required.
• In lieu of two years of technical training, four additional years of relevant maintenance experience may be considered; advanced technical training may be required for some positions.
• Familiar with working in a unionized environment.
• Valid driver's license; CDL may be required based on discipline.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills; strong computer skills including MS Office.

Responsabilités

• Monitors active in-service vehicles with minimal direction; triages vehicles to minimize downtime and promote safety and reliability.
• Provides real-time vehicle monitoring using telemetry systems and coordinates with locations to increase fleet reliability.
• Develops reports documenting the effectiveness of service-failure mitigation efforts.
• Investigates service disruptions to identify trends for fleet reliability improvements.
• Provides technical assistance and support in the repair and/or maintenance of equipment or buildings.
• Implements Authority practices and policies aligned with good industrial practice.
• Develops cost-effective maintenance practices for deployment across operations.
• Coordinates and dispatches all automotive recovery assets including service trucks and wreckers.
• Assists engineering in design changes to improve vehicles and customer service issues.
• Maintains a safe, clean, productive environment and ensures training of new staff.
• Supports fair treatment and equal opportunity for all employees in the section.
