The role requires 2+ years in fleet maintenance or operations and 5–8 years of direct management, plus technician experience, DOT knowledge, and strong communication. Travel to multiple shop locations is required as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in fleet maintenance or operations
• 5–8 years of direct management experience
• Prior technician/mechanic experience
• Familiarity with Class 8/heavy-duty trucks and tanker trailers
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of DOT rules and company policies
• Proficiency with fleet management software and ERP systems
• Willingness to travel among multiple shop locations

Responsibilities

• Lead, educate and develop employees
• Monitor performance and be accessible to all shop areas
• Oversee multiple shop operations
• Plan daily manpower to meet workload and support equipment issues
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiencies
• Handle payroll approvals, records, and compliance documentation
• Address corrective actions for direct reports
• Maintain clean, safe working conditions in facility and equipment
• Communicate with clients to align needs
• Coordinate with outside repair sources and pre-shift meetings
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies
• Interview and hire shop personnel
