Amerit Fleet Solutions in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead a team of technicians and mechanics in a preventative maintenance program for light/medium duty vehicles and equipment. The role focuses on safety, efficiency, and cost management within a multi-shop environment.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in fleet maintenance or operations and 5-8 years in direct management, with a technician background and DOT knowledge.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of fleet maintenance or operations experience
• 5-8 years of direct management experience
• Prior technician/mechanic experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Willingness to travel and oversee multiple shop locations
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and Fleet Management/ERP systems

Responsibilities

• Lead, educate and develop employees
• Monitor performance and oversee all shop areas
• Plan daily manpower to meet workload
• Support operations on equipment issues
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency
• Handle payroll approval and compliance documentation
• Address corrective actions for direct reports
• Ensure clean, safe working conditions in the facility
• Communicate with clients to align needs with company goals
• Oversee equipment sent to outside sources for repairs
• Conduct pre-shift meetings
• Assist in hiring shop personnel
