Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. seeks an experienced Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance personnel, oversee shop activities and ensure equipment readiness at a large FedEx Freight shop in Alabama.

You will plan daily staffing to meet workload, monitor performance, provide coaching, coordinate with Operations on equipment issues, and drive cost-saving efficiencies while ensuring high-quality repairs and strict safety/DOT compliance across the facility.

Qualifications

• Three years of vehicle maintenance experience with at least one year in a supervisory/manager role.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission truck to assess operation.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance and DOT rules and regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proven leadership ability.
• Multitasking and organizational skills; proficiency with basic Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead, educate and develop employees.
• Plan daily staffing to meet workload.
• Ensure equipment repairs are completed to high quality and on time.
• Monitor performance and provide corrective action; be accessible to all shop areas.
• Provide support to Operations on equipment-related issues; drive cost-efficiencies.
• Maintain clean, safe working conditions of the facility and equipment.
• Collaborate with Safety and other departments on safety and incident issues.
