Job summary

BENCO Equipment is seeking a Fleet Coordinator to maintain and manage our fleet vehicles across northwestern North Dakota and northeastern Montana. You will coordinate maintenance, perform preventative services, and ensure repairs are completed efficiently and cost‑effectively.

The role blends hands‑on mechanical work with vendor coordination and administrative organization, offering a part‑time schedule and opportunities to grow fleet management knowledge within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to diagnose and repair equipment and components in shop and field.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with team and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Inspect fleet vehicles and evaluate condition via visual checks, test drives, and diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, tune-ups, bulbs, wiper and light repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and propose solutions.
• Coordinate major repairs with outside vendors and manage costs through warranties and options.
• Monitor maintenance schedules and service intervals across the region.
• Maintain accurate service, maintenance, and repair records.
• Communicate repair status and vehicle availability with management.
• Keep shop tools and areas safe and organized.
• Manage inventory levels for maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Pursue ongoing learning to stay current with industry practices.
