Job summary

Walmart is seeking an Area Manager – Transportation Service Shop to lead a 24/7 maintenance operation supporting Walmart’s private fleet. You will guide a team of technicians, drive safety, quality, and efficiency, and ensure reliable delivery of goods to stores.

The role focuses on leadership, scheduling, budgeting, and continuous improvement within Walmart Transportation, with direct impact on supply chain performance and customer experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field with 1 year supervisory experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field
• 3 years service shop technician experience OR industrial technical certification (e.g., ASE, Air Conditioning, DOT Brake, DOT Preventative maintenance) and 1 year supervisory experience in heavy duty truck and trailer maintenance
• Strong leadership, safety, and budgeting capabilities

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in daily service shop operations with a strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance
• Set goals and manage staffing, scheduling, and workloads to meet performance targets
• Lead preventative maintenance programs for tractors, trailers, and shop equipment to ensure fleet readiness
• Review operational and financial reports to monitor productivity and manage expenses
• Coach and develop associates through hiring, performance feedback, and career development
• Promote open communication and safety culture across teams
• Ensure adherence to company policies and zero-loss mindset
