Job summary

Avis Budget Group is seeking an entry-level automotive technician to perform preventive maintenance on a fleet of box trucks and cargo vans. You will handle oil/fluids, tire services, and light repairs while gaining hands-on skills in a fast-paced shop environment.

You may assist experienced techs and, as needed, drive a Budget Truck for testing. This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and a smooth rental experience for customers.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License (Class A, B, or C).
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude or prior auto maintenance experience.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels.
• Must be able to obtain DOT medical clearance.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and light repair work on box trucks and cargo vans, including oil and fluid services, tire repairs and rotations.
• Assist more experienced technicians with repairs and diagnostics as skills develop.
• May drive a Budget Truck on public roads for testing or operational needs.
• Contribute to vehicle safety, availability, and a smooth rental experience by keeping fleet well maintained.
