Job summary

Walgreens is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee private fleet operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient performance. You will manage vendor relationships, forecast staffing and equipment needs, and lead a team toward cost, service, and safety goals.

The role emphasizes driving backhaul opportunities, maintaining system integrity, and collaborating with cross-functional partners to deliver end-to-end supply chain solutions. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years OR High School/GED and at least 5 years of experience in a supply chain or business role.
• Experience negotiating with outside vendors, including negotiating contracts, prices, resolving service issues and reconciling differences.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with internal/external customers, such as vendors, drivers, etc.
• Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
• Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community & with vendors.
• Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
• At least 1 years of experience of direct leadership and/or cross functional team leadership.
• Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Responsibilities

• Monitors, analyzes fleet KPIs and takes corrective action.
• Leads a team to accomplish cost, service and safety goals and provides guidance on complex issues.
• Oversees daily load planning and scheduling of routes to balance workload and store service.
• Drives opportunities to grow backhaul program and collaborates with optimization teams.
• Manages systems supporting transportation and logistics activities including WMS and TMS.
• Outlines objectives and processes focused on innovative solutions for business problems.
• Partners with internal/external stakeholders to support end-to-end supply chain objectives.
