Job summary

Genuine Parts Company (GPC) seeks a Fleet Transportation Coordinator in the Dallas area. You will manage and coordinate transportation logistics, schedule shipments, work with carriers, monitor performance, and resolve issues to ensure on-time delivery.

Responsibilities span dock operations, hostler duties, forklift use, and data reporting. Proficiency with McLeod software and Microsoft Office is required, along with knowledge of regulations and cost control in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain coordination.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices.
• One year of forklift experience or two years hostler experience with dock equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate transportation schedules for shipments.
• Communicate with carriers, drivers, vendors, and customers to arrange pickup and delivery.
• Track shipments and update stakeholders on delivery times.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain records of shipments, costs, and documentation.
• Resolve delays, damage, or loss during transport and find solutions.
• Collaborate with DCs, carriers, and customer service to streamline processes.
• Analyze costs and suggest efficiency improvements.
• Prepare reports on transportation activities and metrics.
• Assist with dock operations and equipment movement as needed.
• Perform Hostler duties as required.
• Utilize McLeod and Microsoft Office for daily tasks and troubleshooting.
