Job summary

Summit School Services is seeking a Lead Fleet Technician to set the tone for safety, quality, and uptime. You’ll lead diagnostics and repairs on medium/heavy vehicles, oversee inspections, and guide technicians to ensure routes leave safe and on time.

You will partner with the Maintenance Leader to plan work, verify quality, and keep the shop running smoothly. CDL preferred; ASE desirable but not required; English communication essential.

Qualifications

• At least five years of medium/heavy truck fleet repair experience with leadership exposure.
• Proficient with diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and A/C issues.
• Experienced in diesel and gas vehicle components.
• Valid state license; CDL preferred; company offers free training.
• ASE certification desirable but not required.
• Strong communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium/heavy trucks per safety and quality standards.
• Oversee inspections and sign-offs before release.
• Lead and guide technicians; oversee workflow.
• Respond to road calls and perform mobile repairs.
• Log labor hours and parts in the maintenance system.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant workspace.
