Job summary

City of Raleigh North Carolina seeks a Light Vehicle Technician to join the Fleet Management Operations team. You will lead a team of technicians, diagnose and repair heavy and light duty vehicles, and perform preventative maintenance to keep our fleet in top shape.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–3 years in automotive repair or related field.
• Equivalent combination of training/experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy and light duty vehicles and equipment.
• Provide road calls and on-site repairs; arrange towing as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and adhere to schedules.
• Update work orders and maintain records.
• Manage parts inventory and parts orders.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
