Job summary

Hanover County Government is seeking an Intern for the Fleet Division to gain hands-on experience while learning about the fleet services we provide. This paid, non-benefited internship offers an opportunity to observe and contribute to routine professional tasks under supervision.

The position is for the 2026-2027 school year and open to students attending Hanover County Public Schools, with up to 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. supervision provided.

Qualifications

• Participation may be coordinated through a Work-Based Learning program or school-approved internship program.
• Experience with spreadsheets and databases is preferred; ability to track data and compile information is required.
• Must be able to plan and manage projects with supervision.
• Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisor to develop a learning/performance plan.
• Perform professional support tasks, such as compiling data and writing reports.
• Track information and provide analysis.
• Take the lead on at least one department process or function.
• Provide written reports, document observations, and interpret results.
• Perform related work as assigned.
