Job summary

Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) seeks a Director of Fleet and Facilities to plan, direct, coordinate, and supervise the GLWA operations group. Develop and implement policies and procedures, participate in budget development and administration, and organize tasks with a high level of independent judgment and discretion.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, business or public administration and at least five years of progressive managerial and administrative

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, business administration, public administration or related discipline.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of recent and progressive managerial and administrative experience, including staffing, budgeting, project management, and operational experience in a large-scale operation.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, delineate and propose solutions to difficult administrative challenges.
  • Confer with leadership team on policy interpretation, activities, procedures, problems, and required action for efficient operations.
  • Review and recommend action on policies and programs formulated by leadership in connection with operations.
  • Analyze data to evaluate efficiency and coordinate plans to increase efficiency.
  • Inspect facilities and operations to identify and prioritize problems.
  • Direct the work of administrative team members and managers.
  • Direct the preparation and management of group’s budget.
  • Prepare and present data to Executive Leadership, board members and GLWA customers.
  • Represent the organization in public forums and maintain safety policies.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, business administration, public administration or related discipline
